Happy Monday! How is the weekend over already?

We had a a very low-key weekend.
I took little man to the park on Friday, the weather was perfection. It is one of the things I love about living in Cali.

Little man was very proud of himself for sitting at the picnic table like a big boy!

I tried this amazing salad from Trader Joe's. It is one of the best salads I have ever had. If you have a Trader Joe's near you go get it. You will love it.

Little man has not been napping as long as he used to, which has never been very long. But this past week, he barely napped at all. Has anyone gone through this before with their toddlers? He is only 21mos. He can't be ready to give up naps now can he? Advice please!!!!

He would rather be sipping on a juice box than napping.

Hubs and I watched "This Is 40" Friday night. It was soooo funny. If you haven't seen it and are in the mood for a laugh, I highly recommend! Realistic yet hysterical!

Saturday we had more kitchen work done. Needless to say, it is still not done. 

However!

At least I have  doors on the cabinets. 

And I have a challenge for myself. 

I am going to try this for sure.

I don't know about you, but I am so ready for this week to be over.
Our kitchen has been under construction all week. I have no doors on my cabinets and drawers. Which has been so much fun for little man to grab everything as fast as he can and dump it all on the floor. All. Week. Long. Hopefully the doors will be here later today or tomorrow.

Cause I can't take much more of this new fun game of dump and run.

Kitchen Renovations....

We moved into our new house the end of October, after searching high and low for a home. We spent over 2 months in an apartment in temporary housing, and I was getting pretty anxious about finding a house. I had had enough of temp housing with a toddler and a dog. So when we finally found "our" house, I was ecstatic!!

But, it needed some love. The kitchen had seen better days.....Much better days. So I have been working hard on researching and finding new appliances, countertops, paint colors, basically everything for our kitchen. I have never done this before so it was a little overwhelming trying to find what I liked, and of course the best deal.  We needed to make our money go as far as it possibly could.

It has taken several phases to get the kitchen I want and we are almost there! We have spent weeks under construction, and I can't wait for it to be finished! It is hard entertaining a toddler when a major section of the house is off limits  because it is torn up.

I know it is hard to tell from the pictures, but the walls were a Robin's egg blue color. The tiles on the countertops were chipped and cracked. The microwave and the oven looked as if a bomb had gone off inside. I did't get that many pics because I just wanted to be out with the old and in with the new.

I am excited to show you the finished kitchen next week!

Weekend In Our World

 I have been sooo bad about blogging. I have missed it, but I just can not seem to find the time. I have had major back problems for months that has totally consumed me and zapped all of my energy. I think of all these great things I want to share, and then when I open my laptop. nothing. My brain is dead. Can't remember one single thing that I had wanted to blog about. Anyway, hopefully things get better and I am able to find time to get back to doing what I love.

So! We had a great relaxing Easter weekend here in Cali just the 3 of us! We went shopping and out for lunch Friday afternoon. Hubs took the day off and I was so happy to be spending some QT together We had lunch at Tart Restaurant in LA. Little man met David Harewood, one of the stars of "Homeland" while at lunch. Of course, I missed the whole thing because I was in the bathroom. Oh well, what can ya do? But hubs said he was really nice to Owen and had fun talking to him.

After Tart, husband wanted to go to Hansens Cakes and get cupcakes. Of course I said yes, because who can resist cupcakes? I love Hansens. They may just be my fave. Just good, simple delicious cupcakes. And they are only a buck a piece. So they are a steal! Very good and I highly recommend going there if you are in LA.

Saturday I chopped 6 inches off of my hair and went back to being a blonde! (I may go even lighter.)  I was in desperate need of a change! I love it and I am so glad I didn't chicken out about it. Just trying to get used to it now. 

Sunday we went to church. I had so much fun watching little man get so excited about the Easter Bunny stopping by and leaving him goodies. This was def one of the best Easter's I have had because he made it so special and exciting.

He loved the eggs! They were by far his favorite.

And would you believe it was cool and rainy here? But, it didn't ruin our day. Church was great and then we went and met friends for brunch. Yummy mexican food and mimosas. What could be better? It was a great relaxing weekend. One that we needed. And I probably ate way more than my fair share of Cadbury eggs. They are so good and so addicting.
